Sorry for the delay...

but I have been busy with my sick kiddo and some baseball games during the week. I think Zac and I got some serious cabin fever this week. Even more so because it was such beautiful weather outside. We had two games for Zeke this week which was sort of nice because then we had Saturday off. Here are a couple of pics from his game on Tuesday night.

Nice hit baby! He made it to first safely but then got out during the next play because he over-ran second base. I think he momentarily forgot that he shouldn't do that.

Here he is as catcher. He does a fairly decent job at that position too. I have a "thing" for catchers. I think they are so cute. I think it is all the gear that they wear.
As I mentioned earlier, Zac has been sick all this week and later in the week his ears started draining on top of his illness (he has tubes), so we had to make another trip to the doctor's office. I have noticed that we do a lot of waiting with him. I captured this shot while we were "waiting" for his doctor to come in and see us.

After taking this shot, I realized that I want to make a scrapbook layout using this photo and the title "Waiting".
Friday was a good day for Zac and I because we got out of the house and socialized. We went to Starbucks in the morning to chat with the other moms and see the other kiddos, like we usually do. Then we went to drop off Zeke's lunch at school since he didn't think that I made it for him. And later that day when we picked up Zeke from school, Zac got to play on the playground with Zeke. They also had a really fun time together at home. Zeke was playing with him so well that day.

When Zeke wants to, he can be a great big brother.
As for this weekend, Herschel and I went to a friend's house and did our Fantasy Baseball draft. Apparently I might actually have a decent team on paper. We shall see how that holds up once the season starts here in a couple of days. Also, on Saturday night, I held another one of my "Craft Nights". I had invited a new mom to join us and I had a great time talking to her. She was a lot of fun. I also had a great time chatting it up with every one else as well. I got a 2 page layout done and it motivated me to finish up a few other layouts I needed to finish. I worked on those today. I still have a few others to finish the journaling on and then I can put them in their perspective albums. I always love being creative with photos. It brings me such joy and a sense of accomplishment.

Since I last blogged, we had my grandpa's birthday dinner, my niece had her baby, Zac got sick again, I went to the Scrapbook Expo, a trip to the Urgent Care (twice), Zeke's first baseball game and a friend's party. Whew...are you as tired as I am? My grandpa's dinner was nice. Herschel bbqed tri-tip and potatoes, and my mom and dad prepared the rest. My grandma and grandpa just enjoyed visiting and watching "the boyfriends" playing. I can't believe it, my grandpa is now 82. And to think that my grandma is even older and they are both doing well. That same day, my niece had her baby. She had a little girl, Juliet. As far as I know they are both doing well. We are yet to see her because of all of the chaos.
On Friday, I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Pleasanton with my parents and Zac. He was doing well until we got there and then he got really warm. I took him outside to cool him off and get him some fresh air. He then seemed to be a little better. After seeing him, I realized that I shouldn't have dragged him out. Then I started stressing about him and realized that I needed to take him to the doctor. On the drive home, while sitting in traffic, I think I started to stress myself out, because I started not feeling well. When we got home, I had my dad take us to Urgent Care, where we waited for awhile. There the doctor, ran two breathing tests, tested him for RSV, took two x-rays and gave him a steroid. After all of that, she was still contemplating admitting him to the hospital. Luckily the on-call pediatrician told her to let him go home and for me to bring him back in the morning to see the pediatrician.
So this morning I got up and got him ready to see the doctor at nine. When we got there, he tested him for the flu and that came back negative. So instead he diagnosed him with viral pneumonia. The treatment is to continue giving him his breathing treatments like I have been and to bring him back to see his doctor during the week sometime.
Later on in the afternoon, my mom watched Zac so that I could go and watch Zeke's first baseball game. The weather was chilly and windy and eventually raining. Zeke played second base and made the first out at first to start off the inning. Yay Zeke! He went on to make the final out of that inning by catching a pop fly. He made an excellent catch! Then when he was up to bat, he had a great hit and thanks to his other team mates, he made it home to score. They only played two innings and then called the game due to rain. I didn't get any photos yet because it was way too chilly to be standing up.
Soon, after Zeke's game, we went and picked up a friend and went to a birthday party for one of our high school friends that also moved back to the west coast. Herschel and I used to hang out with him quite a bit before he left. It's good to have him back. He is a lot of fun.
As for now, I am trying to give Zac his breathing treatments in hopes that he won't cough so much during the night. His poor stomach and chest muscles must be hurting him. Well, this week I don't have anything to do but nurse my kiddo. Well if you made it thru that blog, you are a true fan and I appreciate it tons!

St. Patty's Party, Jumpin' Monkeys, and Some New Kicks...

Over the weekend, we had Zeke's Opening Ceremonies for baseball, my niece's 2nd birthday and a St. Patty's Party. And that was only Saturday. Opening Ceremonies didn't last long thank goodness because it was windy and Zac was a tired boy. Also Zeke got made fun of again (being called a girl) but he stuck up for himself. I was happy to hear that. Next we were on to the party. My niece had a Yo Gabba, Gabba party. She seemed to be really happy during the party. After the party, we dropped off the boys at my parent's house, went to the grocery store for some last minute items (yes alcohol and a few other things), and then we went home. We were running behind so we had to hurry. When we got to the party, the others were already in full swing. We had to quickly catch up. That doesn't take long when there are green everclear jello shots available. I had two but I didn't take the whole thing of both. I can't do jello shots, especially when they taste like lighter fluid. We all ate some food, played some Rockband and laughed a lot. Here are a few pics to enjoy from our evening.

Yes, I know I am concentrating. I take this serious.
After our fun filled evening and just a busy week, Hersch and I vegetated most of Sunday. It was great to have a lazy day. Hersch had brought the guest bed out to the living room so we were watching tv late and relaxing. These next few photos are of the boys having so much fun with the bed being out in the living room.


Zac didn't quite get as into the jumping thing until he saw Zeke a few times. As you can see, it didn't take him long to catch on. They were too much fun that night.
Lastly, I bought both of the boys a new pair of shoes. Zeke's fit him fine but Zac's were a little small (only cuz he has a fat foot), so I had to exchange them. I got Zac's bigger pair today. He was very happy to have his shoes. He was even modeling them for me. Like 'em?

They are Marvel Comic shoes. They have all the different Marvel action heroes on them. As Zeke pointed out to me, his shoes have more comics on them (because his shoes are bigger).

Busy week...

I had a very busy week with Zeke getting sick, going to the doctor for both of the kiddos, going to Sac hospital for Zac's procedure, Zac getting sick in the middle of the night, Zac having his speech therapist come, going to Roseville with my sis-in-law (well that was actually a lot of fun), and a meeting this morning. Not to mention trying to stay on top of everything else around here. I was happy that the weather was nicer which allowed me to go outside with Zac and to take him on a walk. I have also been working on a family tree for Zeke's class activity for next week. That I have really enjoyed working on. It gave me a little "de-stress" time. I have been really inspired lately to create layouts but I have been lacking the time. Although, it motivates me to stay on top of my other daily chores so that I can play later on during the day. Tonight, we are going to my inlaws house to have dinner and to watch the UFC fights. I used to be more into them, but I am losing interest. Pulling weeds...

is something that I absolutely hate to do. I was just outside for a good hour and a half and it doesn't seem like I got anywhere! Zac was outside helping me for awhile, he had a glove on and he had a little shovel digging up dirt. I wish I would have had my camera. I also asked if he wanted to see a worm and of course he said "Yeah". He was holding it watching it squirm and giggling. Then he had enough of it and threw it on the ground somewhere. After that, he was playing baseball and wanted to use the gardening glove has his baseball glove. I tried explaining to him that they weren't the same but it doesn't matter to a two year old. He had been playing outside long enough and I needed him to take his nap. Then I went back out to pull some more weeds and some more weeds and then I was tired of doing the same thing and my legs were starting to hurt.

Well Zeke's lazy day turned out to be a sick day. I took him to the dr. with Zac on Monday only to find out that he has the beginnings of bronchitis. I felt bad for the poor kiddo. He doesn't usually get sick. But the dr. did give Zac the clearance for his dilation procedure tomorrow. His procedure is at 8:30 in the morning. That means I have to be there by 6:30 for check-in and have to leave at 5:30. I am not looking forward to getting up that early. Also I have to remember to ask the dr. to give Zac some meds so he won't throw up afterwards. Last time he had his procedure, he threw up on the way home and continued to do so until about 12 hours later. Then he was eating everything in sight because he finally felt better. Well I am going to pop over to another website to continue with my grandma's Mother's day gift. I'll tell you all more later.

Undefeated...

Yesterday was Zeke's last day of basketball. It was a very low scoring game and it was a very close one. They held on tightly to make their season an undefeated one. Unfortunately Zeke didn't play so well. He just looked out of it. Which makes sense today, because he is running a slight fever and he has been on the couch all day. Either way, I am very proud of him and how far he has come in such a short time. I hope he will play again next year.
As for now, we are moving on to baseball. This is a little bit longer season. It runs until his birthday in May. And somehow, Hersh is the assistant coach. He is not quite sure how that happened. Oh well, we were going to be at all of the games anyways. I will leave you with a quick photo of Zeke with his basketball trophy. Enjoy your week, mine is a busy one.

First things first...

Okay as promised I took a photo of one of the five layouts I completed this past weekend at my Scrapbook Retreat. It is called "first day smiles". It was taken on Zeke's first day of first grade. I got the paper a while ago and then I got the embellishments for the same line on clearance at Target. I finally got to put them together.

Sorry for the glares, I am still learning how to take photos of my work. If I am feeling motivated, I will try to capture the other works as well.

Next, since Zeke has started baseball (even though his first practiced was rained out), he needed to get all of the gear to go with the sport. Today, my dad wanted to know if he could take Zeke to get his cleats. I was fine with that and so my mom and dad got Zeke from daycare and took him to get his baseball goods. In return, I offered to make them dinner. So when they got home, Zeke had to try on his outfit for us. While he was doing that, his brother discovered his other pair of socks. With the help of daddy, he put them on. Isn't he just the cutest thing?

Not just anyone could pull that look off! Thank goodness Zeke made it out and daddy was helping him with his belt.

He looked cute. I can't wait to see the full ensemble when he gets his jersey and hat. I am looking forward to watching him learn how to play another new sport this year. That was my night in a nut shell. But before I go, I am going to leave you with one last photo of my special boy and his brother's socks. Keep in mind that he wore these socks for most of the night until right before bedtime when HE was ready to take them off.

Wonderful weekend...

I had a great weekend despite the horrible rain we had all day today. Friday night I went out with some girls to Sacramento's BJ's Brewery for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had a great time chatting all evening and just being out without the kiddos. I really enjoyed getting out since I tried to stay in as much as possible this past week since Zac was sick. He is getting better but he still has a horrible cough and his antibiotics are giving him a butt rash. I hate that!
Saturday, I got up and headed out to my Scrapbook Retreat. There I met a dear friend and we had a great time being crafty. I was also very productive. I did five layouts and I am very happy with all of them. I will post pics of them very soon. However, I didn't get much sleep last night because Zac was coughing most of the evening.
As for today, I didn't want to do anything but I did a couple loads of laundry, vacuumed and tried to start organizing my scrap area. Then in the evening, my bro and sis-in-law came over and had dinner. We also had a few other friends come over for dinner as well. We had a great evening with all of them. Herschel put Zeke in bed a while ago and I got Zac to bed not too long ago as well. I have to say that I am one tired momma. I too am heading off to bed. Hopefully, Zac will sleep better tonight so that I can as well.
