busy, busy, busy....

I feel like I haven't had any free time since I last posted. And when I did have free time, I was spending it with my mister. Our weekends have been flying by. We haven't had one where we could do nothing... As the holidays approached it only got worse! Don't get me wrong, I have loved all of the fun we have been having on the weekends! Since last posting, we had soccer every weekend until the weekend before Thanksgiving. Then I had a bridal and bachelorette party for my sis-in-law at my house, the following weekend was Thanksgiving weekend which included spending time with family and putting up our Christmas tree and this past weekend, we had our annual Cookie Party! I am looking forward to spending more time with my boys over their Christmas break. Part of our Christmas tradition is making a fire nightly and watching a different Christmas movie every night! Last night was "The Happy Elf". I love all of our traditions! Before I leave for the evening, I will leave you with this photo we took last night....My boys are the cutest!

The start of soccer season...

Last weekend, soccer season started for my oldest son and it was a great opening day! Last year we didn't win any games so it was very exciting when we started off the season by winning our first game 3-1! It was great to watch all of the kids work together out there. This year we told Zeke that he has to do something to keep the hair out of his face while playing. I bought him some headbands to wear and he was a little skeptical about wearing it, so I told him I would wear one as well. Needless to say, after the game, he admitted to the headband working. In addition to that, he asked if I would wear one again this Saturday. How could I say no??? Besides, I think we look super cute together.

Fourth Grade

As I type this, my son is already at school getting ready for 4th grade. I can't believe it. Where did the time go??? It seemed like just yesterday he started kindergarten. His elementary career is almost half over....Oh I'm not ready for him to be this grown up already! He's still supposed to be my baby...Baby or not, he is still super handsome!

Also, the mister is starting his first day of teaching his seventh year of 2nd grade. He has a lot to learn this year with his new Smartboard and the new curriculum. Also, as of now, he has 29 students. That is way too many in one room for that grade level. Either way, I hope they both have a great day back! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Way past due...

I have put the blogging on the back burner for quite some time, but I think I am ready to get back in to it! Besides I have so many new photos to share! First off, we kicked summer vacation off with a trip to the beach. Pismo Beach to be exact! It was such a much needed relaxing vacation. We visited the beach, made sand castles, the boys swam at the pool, we ate at McClintocks and did some reading. It was just nice to get away from everything for a week. I was so proud of Zac for actually getting his hands dirty in the sand. For those of you that aren't aware, he tends to get a little freaked out if he can't clean his hands off immediately.

After that trip, I made a trip with one of my best friends to Chicago to see another one of my best friends. It was a lot of fun but it was also a trip that went by quickly. While we were there, we did an architectural boat tour, walked around downtown Chicago, took in a Cubs game, went out for my bestie's birthday and hung out with my husband's family. My boys were a little upset for going without them...

After getting back from that trip, we celebrated the 4th of July! It was a great day spent at my inlaws for a bbq.

And after that, we have stayed home and worked on a bunch of projects around the house. It all started with a garage sale. I was planning on the garage sale for the middle of July, so I was going around the house gathering items to sell. During this time we added Zac to Zeke's room and made Zac's old room the new toy room. And as for the toy room, that became the new arts & crafts room. We are almost done with finishing up the arts & crafts room. A little more tidying up and it will be all ready to create in there! As I write this, I cannot believe that August is this weekend and that my boys will be heading back to school in a couple of weeks. The summer has just flown by....

Time flies

I can't believe that it has been waaaay over a month since I last posted any new info! I must say that it was quite a busy time from then to now! My most favorite time frame was when my husband's family came to stay with us. They were here for two weeks. During that time we managed to play sports, celebrate Easter, watch movies, take a trip to the beach in San Francisco and enjoy many laughs!

So if you can't tell by the picture, we are Blackhawks fans! Very happy that they made it to the second round but every game is almost too intense for me to watch!

Here is Jen and I! I miss her terribly so! She always went with me whenever I would go out and I loved that! I miss her company! She is just as crazy as I am! she has to be, she too loves a Smith boy!

So I'm not sure if the laughs came before or after the shots! Either way, it was a ton of fun! I've never had as many shots in my life as I did during those two weeks they were here! Oh and if you look closely, you can see Jr in the picture! Yep we got him to take a shot too!

This was taken during our trip to the beach in San Francisco. After going to the beach, we went to Fisherman's Warf and Pier 39 for some lunch and to walk around. Stef joined us for a little bit while we were walking around. That day and everyday during the two weeks they were here were a ton of fun! It was so difficult to say goodbye when they had to leave. It has still been quite the adjustment since they have left. It's just not the same! Lucky for me, I will be returning to Chi-town to see them at the end of June! This time Stef is going with me! Oh the shenanigans to be had!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

In celebration of St. Patrick's day, our friends had a great party last weekend. Let's just say I happened to have a ton of fun!! The food was yummy, the friends were amazing and as always Rockband was played! Thanks again to all of the people that made it such a fun time! Here are a few photos from the night:

I can't wait for next year!

The high light of my week last week...

was watching this amazing artist...

Jon Bon Jovi! My sis-in-law and I are big fans and couldn't wait for him to come on stage. It was an absolutely amazing concert. It happened to be his 47th birthday that night as well. For being 47, that guy can rock like no other! He performed for two hours. Makes me want to start following him too, but his tickets are a little pricier than David's. Anyways, here are a few more photos from the evening.

Girls Night Out, Round 2

A few weeks ago, we ladies discovered a new club. It's in downtown Sac and it's called the Mix. What a fun club that was. So since it was sooo much fun the first time, we thought we would go back to enjoy it a second time. We like the club because it plays decent music to dance to, the prices aren't too bad for drinks and it's a fun place to people watch! I went on Saturday night and had a blast! I'm just happy I'm a cheap date when it comes to alcohol! hahaha! Enjoy the pics:

My girls are the hottest! Love ya ladies!

Busy start to a new year!

So I ended 2009 in San Diego watching this guy
with this girl

It was a ton of fun. More than anything, I didn't want to leave the gorgeous weather! But I came home anyways, I missed my boys! So after I came home, I got ready to do this

My baby turned three! He had a batman bowling party and he was super excited about it! He opened lots of presents and had a great day! The following day my mister and I went to Marina (near Monterey) to celebrate our anniversary early.

We had a great time doing nothing, just the two of us! It was much needed! And by the end of the week we were doing this with the boys...

We had a blast at the snow and can't wait to return. And after that trip, the boys had to head back to school and Zac and I got back to work here at home. Needless to say the start of this year has been busy for all of us!
